As a Global Manufacturing Development Manager you develop and drive a plan of projects and activities for conventional wound care products. You define and implement the tactical plans for the global manufacturing network including capacity planning, production allocation, efficiency improvement plans, process improvement, transfer and risk management.
The position as Global Manufacturing Development Manager requires really good networking skills and you liaise with R&D, Manufacturing, QA/RA, Supply chain, and finance to ensure the products are transferred on time, on budget, and in compliance with all regulations.
Identify, coordinate and drive with each Operations team (Procurement, Factories, Contract Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics) an aligned product improvement agenda, supply/quality issues, cost optimisation, efficiency gain in processes etc.) to be used as Operation’s input into the Category & Franchise teams.
Translate the agreed plan of activities for each category group into a product & process improvement and launch plan for each Operations unit (procurement, factory, contract manufacturing, logistics) to ensure speed in execution, effective resource management and clarity in accountability.
Put in place a follow-up process with key stakeholders within Operations, Commercial and R&D to correct any deviation against agreed plan and deliver within expectations. Develop and implement a strong performance management system throughout the Operations team in order that performance is continuously monitored and evaluated and corrective actions are taken.
Identify and coordinate within Global Manufacturing team an aligned process improvement agenda to deliver targeted efficiency improvement in manufacturing operations (OEE improvement, waste reduction)
Ensure that existing and future capacity gaps will be mitigated with the implementation of the right and efficient manufacturing process and equipment
Support/lead the development of new machine/equipment (incl. Upgrade) whenever needed
Contribute to the Make or Buy decision process
Define and drive the production/machine allocation agenda
Manage and lead the transfer of manufacturing process to appointed internal sites or contract manufacturers
Accountable for developing, communicating, and delivering the transfer plan. All aspects of transfers to be owned and managed.
Develop governance and operating model for process improvement initiative within Global Manufacturing. Ensure all machine drawings are up to date and available whenever needed
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing process and operations.
Extensive experience from international organizations and direct experience from living in other countries is an advantage.
Solid experience in Project Management and/or process development management
Very good knowledge in machine design and engineering.
Ability to drive and implement change through creativity and out of the box thinking.
A strong action and operational focus in order to make things happen.
