Pulse International is looking for an experienced Physician for the post of Clinical Director of General Medicine for a 181-bed teaching hospital in the South Island.
Job description:
The hospital, rebuilt in 2004, is a state-of-the-art facility providing healthcare to a population of 107,000 over a wide geographical area. It’s equipped with the latest in PACS, digital radiology, MRI, CT and ISOFT patient management system.
The successful candidate will be passionate about service delivery and understand the benefits of placing emphasis on clinical governance. A special interest in Internal Medicine would be an advantage.
Currently the department is traditional in its structure and approach but is ready for change and it is the post holder who will spearhead this, re-invigorating a department which provides services encompassing internal medicine, geriatrics, rehabilitation and a wide range of sub-speciatlies.
Located in the lower South Island, the area offers a wide range of recreational activities. It is home to two of New Zealand's national parks offering superb hiking and scenery, whilst internationally acclaimed fishing and a wide range of other outdoor pursuits are also available. Five top New Zealand snowboarding/skiing destinations are also within easy driving distance.
Candidates should have completed their specialist training and be eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand. The post offers an attractive remuneration package, relocation assistance and CME allowance.
