Pulse International is looking for a Consultant Anaesthetist for a 181-bed teaching hospital in the South Island.
Job description:
The hospital, rebuilt in 2004, is a state-of-the-art facility providing healthcare to a population of 107,000 over a wide geographical area. It’s equipped with the latest in PACS, digital radiology, MRI, CT and ISOFT patient management system.
The successful candidate will share responsibility for the specialist anaesthetic assessment and care of patients at the hospital. You'll apply your expert knowledge of modern techniques - from pre-operative assessment and operating theatre services to obstetric analgesia, Intensive Care and Emergency Department Resuscitation. You will also be involved in teaching Anaesthetic Registrars in the ANZCA accredited department.
Located in the lower South Island, the area offers a wide range of recreational activities. It is home to two of New Zealand's national parks offering superb hiking and scenery, whilst internationally acclaimed fishing and a wide range of other outdoor pursuits are also available. Five top New Zealand snowboarding/skiing destinations are also within easy driving distance.
Candidates should have completed their specialist training and be eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand. The post offers an attractive remuneration package, relocation assistance and CME allowance.
