Director of Product Management DevOps

Product Managers are the CEOs of their products and are responsible for defining, prioritizing, planning and driving the execution of the vision for their product lines. Product Managers must possess business acumen as well as engineering wherewithal in order to be able to strategize, drive and bring their product to market. Product Managers must work extensively with customers while working cross functionally with Product Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and business development in order to successfully prioritize features and develop the products that our customers need.

The role is based in the CFEngine office in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities

The Director of Product Management will play a key role in compiling the strategy and roadmap our product
Jointly own (with engineering) delivery of software across multiple releases (major and minor)

Will provide industry insights, and drive product direction within the company and the industry.
Creates content that describes and communicates product vision and product direction for customers, analysts, and internal audiences..

The Director of Product Management will be involved in daily product planning activities and should be familiar with Product Requirements Documentation practices as well as product requirements tracking and prioritization techniques.
This person will attend all of the critical regular product planning meetings and will work in concert with Engineering to deliver compelling new products to market.

Desired skills and experience:
Proven track record in building enterprise systems management products
Familiarity with the following will be considered a plus:
IT Automation space: DevOps, Application Lifecycle & Application Release, Orchestration and System Config
Open Source Software and Open Source Community Model with IT infrastructure product
SaaS-based system management solutions
IT Automation Domain knowledge as well as competitive knowledge and acumen
Strong analytical skills and a natural predisposition toward data-driven decision making, but with ability to make reasoned decisions in the face of uncertainty or imperfect data.
Minimum of 6 years experience in Product Management leadership positions. Software development background a plus.
BS in Computer Science or related technical field. MS and/or MBA a plus.
Willing to travel to meet customers and partners up to 20-25% time.
