The Health & Safety Adviser is responsible for supporting all aspects of the SPSP training programs through the development and implementation of H&S best practices, ensuring that SPSP comply with current health and safety legislation, codes of practice and guidance in relation to employment and service provision in its host country (Saudi Arabia).
Job description:
Reporting to the Director of Training (DOT), develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures and act as SPSP’s lead competent person in matters of health and safety
Monitor, evaluate and review health and safety provision to ensure best practice
Identify and meet employee training needs in relation to health and safety
Advise the SPSP Management team on health and safety issues, form a H&S committee and action recommendations to ensure compliance with current legislation
Coordinate audits to evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety systems and procedures, identifying and implementing improvements
Support the delivery of H&S training as required
Support line managers to carry out and review risk assessments to maintain safe systems of work, implement accident reporting procedures and management of hazardous substances (COSHH) in a consistent and effective manner
Coordinate the investigation of the causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent recurrence, including maintaining written records of investigations and actions implemented
Any other duties as reasonably required by TQ Management

Qualifications & Education
Essential:
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (occupational safety, engineering)
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (OSHA)
Excellent IT skills / ability to communicate at all levels
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role (oil and gas)
Supervisory / Management qualification
Desired:
Middle East experience
Experience in teaching / training
Qualifications HND or equivalent
