Aker Offshore Partner Ltd based in Aberdeen, have excellent opportunities for talented individuals who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the engineering, construction, maintenance, modification and operations market.
We are currently looking for an Instrument Technician for the Total E&P St. Fergus Gas Plant, Peterhead.
As part of the requirement for this role, candidates must live within 40 miles of the plant (postcode AB42 3EP), or be prepared to relocate to the North East of Scotland.
Responsibilities and tasks:
Objectives / Scope.
Carry out instrument planned, preventative and remedial maintenance.
Main Responsibilities:
INTERPERSONAL TASKS:
Create, maintain & enhance effective working relations.
Plan and ate work.
Maintain effective communication with peers and other work groups.
Report to the E & I Co-ordinator.
Conduct work group briefings.
MAINTENANCE TASKS:
Carry out instrument planned, preventative and remedial maintenance on equipment including but not limited to the following:
Electric, hydraulic and pneumatic actuators.
Logic, manual, relief, control and non-return valves.
Level, pressure, temperature and flow indicators.
Level, pressure, temperature, flow, fire, gas vibration and position transmitters.
Gas and liquid analysers.
Electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic control loops.
Electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic measurement loops.
Pressure storage equipment.
Electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
Electrical interlocks.
AC and DC power protection.
Calibration of electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic devices and systems.
Replacement of, PCBs, valves and valve trims, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic circuit devices, and software.
Verification of equipment and machinery performance criteria and mechanical equipment isolation integrity.
Analysis of pneumatic, hydraulic and software malfunction.
Preparation of resources and work sites with reference to other coincident activities to ensure the effectiveness and safety of complex operation and maintenance work.
Minimisation of substance release to the environment and safe disposal of hazardous substances.
Compliance with relevant specifications and standards.
Selection of PPE appropriate to task.
Maintenance of accurate and up to date records.
Evaluation of condition monitoring data.
Utilisation of a computerised planned and preventative maintenance system.
Certified electrical equipment maintenance.
Authorised Person Instrument ( API ) duties.
Mechanical Isolation Authority ( MIA ) Instrument.
PLANT OPERATION TASKS:
General Operational duties:
Carry out Plant operation tasks, which may include but will not be limited to the following:
Adjustment of level, temperature, pressure, composition, flow, voltage, speed, position and response parameters.
Hazard detection including fire, gas, explosion, occupational, and impact risks.
Lifting and handling.
Permit To Work responsibilities.
PROJECTS AND MODIFICATIONS - PRE-OPERATIONAL TASKS:
Assist in the commissioning of plant and equipment.
Undertake technical and safety training relevant to Site.
FLEXI-SKILLING TASKS:
Carry out first line maintenance activities such as:
Assist with torquing of pipework.
Ensure Gas Testing is carried out when appropriate, and have a sound understanding of where and when this should be carried out.
Participate as a member of the after hours on call support team and respond to any request for technical assistance.
Qualifications & personal attributes:
3 years onshore / offshore or hydrocarbon processing operations.
