About Our Client:

My client is an international financial services group, one of the top eight lenders in Africa with subsidiaries that are market leaders in their respective segments.

Just over 10 years ago the Bank changed its status from a private limited liability company to a public limited liability company and was listed on the Stock Exchange

It now has over 270 branches in Africa and a licensed banking subsidiary in the United Kingdom with an office in the City of London.

Job Description:
The purpose of the IT Manager position is to:

Manage IT and communications infrastructure of the bank.
IT System Administration and provide support to IT users of the bank on a day today basis.

JOB TASKS:
- As the IT Manager, manage and maintain IT infrastructure of the bank as per laid down policies and procedures

- Manage and monitor IT projects on a timely manner and provide periodic progress report to the management

- Responsible for user maintenance on all IT application , day to day IT set-up support and guidance to all users

- Coordinate, manage and resolve all IT related incidents in a timely and efficient manner

- Develop, create and maintain all static and fluid data (e.g. interest rates/exchange rates) in the bank's core applications

- Maintain, review and periodically test the bank's Business Continuity Plan, Disaster Recovery, and data back up and report regularly to the management

- Manage service level agreements, liaise with third party vendors/suppliers, monitor operating standards and report periodically to the management

- Work alongside relevant third party service providers to ensure that the IT infrastructure is monitored effectively to enhance early detection of faults and to conduct regular testing to demonstrate reliability (System Monitoring & Testing)

The Successful Applicant:
As the IT Manager you will need d the following:

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Proven working experience of around 10 years in IT areas of a small bank.

- Tertiary IT qualifications will be an added advantage

- Knowledge of Banking Applications (e.g. Flexcube, BankWare etc.) and GABRIEL, OSCA Applications (preferably Lombard Risk Reporter)

- Technical competency with MS windows server 2003/2008, MS Exchange (all versions), SQL Server (all versions),

- Understanding of IT Infrastructure including networks, operating systems, firewalls (Checkpoint & Cisco), and associated services. Communications systems, VPNs and internet connectivity.

- Understanding of regulatory requirements surrounding the provision of IT services in a regulated firm.
