Job description:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global and market leading retail organisation as an IT Manager based out of South Wales.

Job Description:
The successful IT Manager will be responsible for leading the IT & Support teams which are responsible for delivering technical support to the organisations large IT and telecoms infrastructures to large internal customer base. The IT Manager will lead the teams on a daily basis to ensure appropriate support is provided to the organisation and also be involved in the evolution of that function & implementing new systems, new technologies & addressing complex technical problems. This role is a management position and not hands on technical but the successful candidate will need to come from a strong technical background in order to manage technical staff members and also act as an escalation point in certain situations

Key Responsibilities:
*Leading a team of 1st & 2nd line support engineers
*Strive to improve service & service delivery
*Review and address incidents and problems to improve resolutions and lower incidents
*Address and work to KPI's & SLA's
*Own, control, manage IT budgets
*Coach, mentor, support and develop team members both from a soft skills perspective as well as technically
*Champion and represent the team, function & IT department in management meetings
*Support the organisation in a non-IT related capacity - management meetings, presentations to customers, operations duties etc...

The Successful Applicant:
The person - Qualifications & Technologies
*A bachelor degree or equivalent in business or a technical discipline.
*Management experience within IT
*Linux/Unix System Support and/or MS Windows System Support experience.
*Networking knowledge - LAN / WAN and Wireless.
*Data Cabling / Computer Facilities knowledge.
*Telecom knowledge including VOIP / SIP and mobile technologies
*Technical support experience.
*Proven experience of developing documentation
*Experience of developing, owning, requesting and managing IT budgets (people & technology).
*Strong technical skills and experience
*Strong stakeholder management skills
*Strong communications skills
*Experience of project management
*Management experience of a support team
*Budgeting and forecasting experience.
Qualifications/Desirable (not essential)
*An understanding of core internet technologies - DHCP, DNS, mail transport, TCP/IP and network file systems.
*CISCO experience with/or certifications.
*Certifications in Unix/Linux System Support and/or Microsoft Windows System Support.
*Service Delivery and Service Level Management experience.
*ITIL and Prince2 certifications.
*Experience in procurement, inventory and asset management of IT equipment
*Excellent understanding of both hardware and software

What's on Offer:
£50,000 - £55,000 based on experience + very attractive benefits package
