Junior Footwear Buyer

My client is a respected and successful Womenswear retailer based in the Midlands. They have seen steady growth over the last 5years and particular success with their Footwear division. To assist the further planned growth on Footwear they are looking to appoint a Junior Buyer.

Job description:

Reporting into the Buyer the Junior Buyer will be responsible for sub-categories within the range, possessing full autonomy over those ranges and managing the seasonal trading with the support of the Merchandising team. The Junior Buyer is also responsible for managing the day to day workload of department Assistants, ensuring all critical path dates are met, the sample library is managed and all weekly reports are run according to the department requirements.

The Successful Applicant:
The desired candidate will be currently in a relevant Footwear buying position and have a minimum to two years experience. A Senior Assistant Buyer looking to take a step up or a Junior Buyer looking to further their career. the successful candidate will posses a developed understanding of the technical process of Footwear production and a commercial understanding of the high street footwear market. The role is own brand development so footwear buyers with purely branded experience will not be considered.
