About Our Client
METTLER TOLEDO is a global manufacturer and marketer of precision instruments for use in laboratory, industrial and food retailing applications. The company has operations globally, employ thousands of people across multiple sites and is one of the few companies who still manufacture locally.

METTLER TOLEDO now requires 2 technical Product Engineer's to work out of their Manchester location to proactively support the management of existing and future product portfolios. Safeline is the global leader in the design and manufacture of metal detectors and X-ray machines for the inspection of food and pharmaceutical products.

Job description:

Proactively support the management of existing and future product portfolios via structured adoption of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) from product requirements through to commercial release and beyond to product retirement.

Key accountabilities will include:
Provide effective communication from the market to the internal teams with regard to market requirements and development of requirement specifications.
Provide effective market research and communicate this back into internal teams
Develop and implement new product management processes and metrics, such as reporting on sales figures, market trends etc.
Support the sales and marketing teams with appropriate sales tools, white papers, articles and user stories.
Support the product Manager in the creation of the product development strategies
Develop a solid understanding of the food safety and metal detection markets
There will also be numerous other important tasks to fulfil, to be successful in the Product Engineer role, but ultimately it is essential that you think commercially. This is a very good opportunity to join a global business that is known for its staff development and employee engagement.

The Successful Applicant:
Proven experience in a manufacturing organisation or technical business
Experience of managing the product lifecycle from cradle to grave
Proof of successfully launching a commercial product plan
An appreciation of the marketing element of product management, such as go to market strategies including copy and market segmentation
Proven analytical ability
Well organised, good communicator and the ability to work at a fast pace and within set time frames
