Sales Director - Europe & North Africa - Heavy Equipment

About Our Client My client is a market and technology leader in their specialist field providing turnkey capital equipment / heavy equipment engineering solutions for a wide range of mining, quarrying and tunnelling applications.

Job description:

Overall sales responsibility of heavy equipment (OE and Service) into Europe and North Africa.

Provide strategic direction to the sales and service teams based remotely across the region to maximise business opportunities;
Develop and drive sales growth strategy in Europe and North Africa, based on fact-based market analysis to meet and exceed the annual sales forecast.
Represent the company at senior levels within the customer base to ensure good relationships are maintained and enhanced as an aid to achieving sales targets.
Ensure that the sales organisation provides a high quality cost effective and responsible service to customers and the rest of the organisation;
Contribute as a team member of the executive team, to the formation of strategy for the organisation and play a role in policy decision making on a continuing basis.
Prepare plans and budgets for the Sales and Marketing function so that it has sufficient resources to achieve its agreed objectives.
Represent the company at senior levels within the customer base to ensure good relationships are maintained and enhanced as an aid to achieving sales targets.
Visit customer sites typically remote mine sites, pits and underground operations to identify and solve issues that arise and promote the benefits of technology and equipment.

The Successful Applicant:
A demonstrable track record of success in an international sales and marketing management role within an understanding of Heavy Engineering, and/or Mining Equipment, and/or Earthmoving Equipment.
Prepared to travel extensively throughout Europe and North Africa on a frequent basis, visiting remote mine sites, pits and underground operations.
Culturally aware you will be tenacious yet structured in your approach and bring real dynamism to the team through your "can do" attitude and motivation of others.
A sharp strategic thinker with the ability to get the best out of internal and external teams.
Confident and assertive communicator with highly developed influencing and networking skills.
Proven track record of personal success in a business development role and the ability to motivate a sales team through strategic business development.
Flexibility to travel extensively across region.
Good communications skills, both spoken and written;
Additional languages would be preferable.
