Sales Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Isle of Man Creamery who are a co-operative of family owned dairy farms, whose farm-assured herds supply the purest milk for the production of a range of milk, cream, butter and cheese. The business has seen success in the UK and export markets including Ireland, USA and Middle East for its award winning cheese. Local sales of cheese, butter, cream and milk are an important element of this diverse business that is now seeking a self motivated and results orientated FMCG sales person to achieve the company’s ambitious growth plans. The successful candidate will have a clear customer focus, a strong understanding of the needs of the retail sector with the aim of maximizing profitability together with successfully managing a small sales and customer service team on the Isle of Man. With a clear progression opportunity to a Sales Director role , this is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for but not limited to;

1. Personal Sales Activity
Selling the products and pro-actively maximising profitability through price management.
Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers
Identifying and visiting potential customers for new business.
Negotiating the terms of agreements and closing sales.
Representing the business at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.
Negotiating price changes, promotional calendars and activities to maximise sales of our products.
Create and deliver on Account Plans for major customers and sectors

2. Staff Management
Ensure all staff have up to date and relevant KPIs which support the achievement of company goals
Ensure all staff have clear understanding of their own role and responsibilities and how delivery contributes to company goals
Ensure all staff feel valued, encouraged and clearly understand what they are required to deliver within clearly defined timescales
Ensure all training needs are identified and appropriate solutions are planned and completed to agreed timescales
Ensure sufficient spread of skills exist within team to ensure sufficient cover for absences
Manage the calling cycle for all current and potential commercial customers on the Isle of Man

3. Analysis, Planning and Reporting
Create annual and quarterly Sales Plans with clear, challenging and time-bound objectives for new and existing business
Proactively analyse sales results by product and / or customer to identify opportunities to gain new sales or regain lost sales
Provide timely feedback and analysis to Managing Director regarding sales performance.
Create accurate, timely and useful summaries of sales results, opportunities, risks and activity for presentation at the monthly Management Meeting.
Proactively analyse reasons behind variances in sales performance and create appropriate action plans in response.
Gathering market and customer information and providing feedback on future market trends.

The Successful Applicant:
As an accomplished FMCG sales person, Ideally you will have knowledge and experience with key UK retailers. You may be a National Account Manager looking to take the next step or you are an existing Sales Manager looking for a forward thinking company that can offer a new challenge.

The ideal candidate profile will have:
Preferably educated to degree level.
Minimum 5 years' successful experience in a relevant sales role.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated and driven by achieving sales and profit targets.
Able to effectively manage a small team.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and sales skills.
Able to effectively build relationships.
Able to identify and progress new business opportunities.
Strong commercial awareness and customer focus.
High level of literacy, able to prepare and present commercial proposals.
Strong analysis and sales reporting skills.
High level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
Able to act on and use own initiative.
Proficient using MS Office, including MS Excel and Word to an intermediate or advanced level.
Experience of the chilled food or the dairy market is not
essential but would be advantageous.

What's on Offer:
£45,000 - £55,000 basic salary, up to 20% bonus, pension, car allowance and a relocation support if required.
