LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER job in Qatar

Role Objective

To ensure that the mechanical works during design and construction meet the client and stakeholder requirements
To ensure compliance with the applicable standards and regulations through monitoring the work of the consultants and constrictors

Responsibilities:
Expertise in detail front engineering, detail engineering design, construction and commissioning of Mechanical equipment’s e.g. Port cranes, STS cranes. RTG cranes. Mobile cranes, Fork lifts etc. HVAC systmes for buldings, District cooling systems etc.
Responsible for supervision of all areas of construction work with respect to mechanical works, utilities and general facilities of the project, including but not limited to fire water and foam, systems, power area and street lighting, potable water, drainage, CARNES, HVAC AND EQUIPMENTS
Contribute to the definition of the mechanical requirements of the project
Review basis of the design, preliminary drawings, detailed drawings, shop drawings and related calculations to ensure adherence to the required standards and norms
Perform technical compliance reviews of mechanical design documentation produced by consultants and recommends to relevant management for approval
Monitor the management of consultants/contractors compliance to the approved mechanical design during the construction phase
Confirm consultant’s compliance to the design review and approval process for ensuring the mechanical technical compliance team performs design reviews in line with applicable standards and specifications and adhere to clients design process governance
Make recommendations on the mechanical design based on the review of the drawings, specifications and design information. Assist the project team in review/approval fo the documents such as equipment /manpower mobilization programme, construction programme, shop drawings, work method statement, etc. submitted by contractors and consultants
Review and comment on pre commissioning, commissioning and start up procedures and operating and maintenance manuals for all mechanical works, CARNES, HVAC AND EQUIPMENTS utilities/building services work.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from a well-known university
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, and /or professional certification such P.Eng or equivalent is desirable
Chartered membership of an engineering institution

Experience:
15-20 years’ experience in mechanical engineering in either a government or private sector organization, preferably on mega marine projects of which about 10 years in design of mechanical systems and 10 years on the construction side
Previous GCC experience is considered beneficiary

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent
