Lead Compressor Specialist job in Kazakhstan

The successful candidate is required to work in an integrated Client and Project Management Consultant (PMC) team, undertaking Pre-Contract Development and Post-Contract engineering activities for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contracts for a 1475 km gas pipeline system and associated works. Experience in Rotating Equipment for pipelines, compressor stations, metering stations and related services are required. The Basic Design currently has been completed based on the Kazakhstan’s codes and legislation.

Specific Responsibilities Applicable to Position:

At pre-contract stage, the work involves the familiarization of the Basic Design documentation prepared by the Subcontractors in charged to develop the design (Designers). Thereafter, the work entails to assist the Client during the Technical Bid Evaluation, including the processing of clarifications from bidders, assisting under a technical point of view the contract preparation and the award of contracts.

At post-award stage, the work includes the review of the Detail Design documentation prepared by the EPC Contractors, and, if necessary, to make proposal of alternative to improve the completeness and quality of the documentation reviewed, in respect of the budget approved,attending kick – off meetings, assistance to the Client in the assessment and validation of the technical issues at the base of Change order or Claims raised by the EPC Contractors.

Qualifications and Experience:
Higher Education Degree (in Mechanical Engineering or similar) is mandatory,

preferably including education in Western institution of higher learning.

Relevant certifications in Rotating Equipment industries

Fluent knowledge of English language is required (Russian would be an advantage)

Knowledge and experience in international PMC contracts related to the development and execution EPC Contracts

Relevant skills include Mechanical design for Rotating Equipment (e.g. Turbine,

Compressor, Pumps) and related auxiliaries system (e.g. Sealing, Fuel Gas Skid, Lube Oil, Mineral Oil Skid)

Experience in the review of Mechanical engineering documentation and selection of

Turbo Compressor based on the Vendor Performance Data

Preparation and hands-on experience in Mechanical engineering documentation

(specifications, engineering requisition, equipment data sheets, etc.), including training/mentoring of local staff, where applicable
