Pulse International is looking for a Nurse Manager for the Pre-admission Testing (PAT) Unit of an exciting new healthcare project in Qatar.
Job description:
Scheduled to open in 2013, the Sidra Medical and Research centre will offer the latest technology and equipment to meet world-class standards in patient care, medical education and biomedical research. There will be a sophisticated clinical and translational research programme, general adult medical and surgical services and specialty care for women and children. The centre will be a teaching venue for medical students at Weill Cornell Medical College - a branch of the prestigious Ivy League university in New York.
The 9-bed PAT Unit will provide pre-operative and pre-procedural assessment, testing a preparation for all elective interventional services patients. A strong focus will be put on patient and family education. An Anaesthetist and Perioperative Nurse will interview and evaluate each patient. Routine tests and X-rays are carried out in PAT.
The Nurse Manager of the PAT Unit is responsible for the direction, administration and evaluation of patient care. He / she will play a major role in the implementation of the Sidra vision of family-centred care. As the project nears completion the role will change and after the centre opens the successful candidate will take on a senior operational role.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse with a Master’s degree in Nursing or a Healthcare related subject and at least seven years progressive nursing management experience in Pre-admission Testing (PAT).
Experience in international accreditation, such as Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) would be an advantage.
