Qualified and Experienced General Practitioners – Disability Analyst Postn UK Nation-wide

HCL Permanent, one of the UK’s largest providers of healthcare recruitment, is looking for General Practitioners to work as Disability Analysts with our clients across the United Kingdom.

Job description:

Registered Medical Practitioners use their clinical expertise to carry out medical examinations and provide medical advice on people who claim various types of benefit. They forward their reports to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) where decisions on benefits entitlement are made. Examinations are performed in one of 150 Medical Service Examination Centres nation-wide or in the claimant’s home. Full training is given to allow the Registered Medical Practitioners to become specialists in the field of Disability Assessment. Some doctors may wish to progress in obtaining the Diploma of Disability Assessment Medicine (DDAM), approved by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine.

Requirements

• Experience as a General Practitioner or experienced in related disciplines which require the exercise of broad-based examination, investigation and diagnostic skills
• Minimum 3 years general medical experience: a background including General Practice/Family Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Disability Assessment or psychiatry would be an added advantage
• Ability to assess and examine all of physical and mental conditions which affect an individual’s capacity to work
• Ability to analyse information and medical evidence and present a report in a concise and professional manner to allow utilisation by a Decision Maker within the DWP
• Able to work as a part of a team and interact with fellow professionals and administrative colleagues who provide support
• Full GMC registration (inclusion on the GP Register is an advantage)

Terms:

• Permanent or Part-Time Contracts
• Basic salary £50,000 to £54,000 per year
• Doctor renews annual GMC and claims back out for the employer
• 25 Days Annual Leave, which runs from 1st January to December
