Pulse International is looking for a Research Nurse Manager for an exciting new healthcare project in Qatar.
Scheduled to open in 2013, the Sidra Medical and Research centre will offer the latest technology and equipment to meet world-class standards in patient care, medical education and biomedical research. There will be a sophisticated clinical and translational research programme, general adult medical and surgical services and specialty care for women and children. The centre will be a teaching venue for medical students at Weill Cornell Medical College - a branch of the prestigious Ivy League university in New York.
Research is central to the vision and mission of Sidra and the Clinical Research Centre (CRC) will contribute nationally, regionally and internationally to the improvement of health by supporting clinical research which impacts women’s and children’s health, with a strong emphasis on research into the key health care issues for the people of Qatar and the Gulf region.
The CRC will provide clinical research guidance to biomedical investigators, staff and trainees, including supporting and managing clinical trials portfolios. The CRC staff will include a team of Research Nurses who will work with other clinical staff to manage and support patient care during studies.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Research, the Research Nurse Manager will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of research nurses working within the CRC, across a number of projects. The role involves using an in-depth knowledge of writing practical patient-based sections of study protocols and other patient study documents. A working knowledge and compliance with local, national and international research are required.
The Research Nurse Manager will collaborate with the study teams and the wider multi-disciplinary teams in managing clinical trial patients and will be able to clinically review study ideas and protocols for feasibility and care pathways.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse with a Master’s degree in Nursing or a healthcare related subject and at least seven years experience as a Research Nurse, to include two years as Research Nurse Manager in a North-American or European academic medical centre.
