The company develops control technology solutions and manufactures a broad line of pre-programmed universal remote control products, embedded hardware and software, and audio-video (AV) accessories that enhance and simplify the home entertainment experience.

This includes:
- Pre-programmed universal Infrared (‘IR’) and radio frequency (‘RF’) remote controls that are sold to subscription broadcasting providers (Cable, Satellite and IPTV), OEM, retailers and private label customers.

- Integrated circuits on which their software and universal device control database is embedded and intellectual property is sold to OEM, Subscription broadcasting and private label customers.

- Software, firmware and technology solutions that can enable devices such as TV’s, set-top boxes, smart phones, tablets, gaming controllers and other consumer electronic devices to wirelessly connect and interact with home networks.

The location in Enschede (The Netherlands) is responsible for the Subscription Broadcasting business for the EMEA region and the global Consumer division of the company, with the ONE FOR ALL brand.

Main tasks & responsibilities:
In this role, your responsibilities are to:

Remain fully involved in all aspects of the product development work-flow to ensure that product, process and project related quality risks are quantified upfront and tracked.

Review both manufacturing and software quality KPI’s to measure, track and improve overall efficiency and accuracy at which the product requirements meet customer specifications.

Support and assist with designing portions of quality requirements, processes, and practices into the development, design, manufacturing, and continuous improvement of parts of a product or a solution

Collect, consolidate and chart data from reports, testing, and process results for assigned projects to identify trends and issues; Implement specified changes to quality processes to reduce defects and improve quality.

Work with internal departments and our factory based in China to proactively support product qualification and high volume manufacturing readiness. The major tasks would include reviewing results from pilot runs, suggest solutions to outstanding challenges, draft comprehensive test plans, measure product and process quality parameters, etc.

Implement process improvement initiatives, conduct DFMEA for projects, and introduce Six- sigma/lean principles wherever effective and feasible.

Conduct root cause analysis on both NPI and field issues involving teams spread across US, EU and China.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent)

Minimum 4-6 years of experience with a strong knowledge on quality assurance principles & willingness to travel.

Required Skills & Expertise:
A thorough knowledge and practical experience on the product development life cycle for technically challenging projects with a special focus on QA deliverables, their context, quality of deliverable and the quality risks in each phase.

Fundamental understanding of material properties, hardware and electrical component design and manufacture, and quality standards & methodologies.

A technical background with experience working on product design, engineering, layout, software validation and/or PCB and system manufacturing is highly desirable.

Good understanding on the software development process, best practices, types of software testing, software quality metrics etc.

Experience in embedded software development domain is a huge plus; so is the exposure to technologies such as Bluetooth, Voice recognition, Accelerometer implementations etc. on consumer electronics products.

Solid understanding on the concepts of quality measurements within IQC, IPQC and OQC (how, why, what to measure and/or analyze), deduce trends from raw figures, ability to compare performances, make accurate inferences from KPI data and trends, suggest corrective actions for relevant teams within the factory.

Skilled in adopting proven and professional methodologies towards measuring quality during the entire manufacturing process => strong understanding on the parameters to measure and when, type of equipment used for measurement, possible error modes during test preparation, execution & reporting, suggest corrective actions for failures.

Knowledge in the concept and application of FMEA, Design for Manufacture, Design of Experiments (DOE), etc.

Good communication skills in English.
