We have an challenging opportunity for an Energy Manager to join our Hard FM team to transform the Energy Management service provided to our client to an exemplar standard. We are looking for and environmental Manager with an Energy specialism to manage services, on behalf of a FM provider, to a Large London NHS Trust comprising of 3 Hospitals. The role is to deliver the contract requirements, provide management information, reports and expert advice on all aspects of Energy Management. The contract is subject to KPIs that must be fulfilled and the Energy Manager will be required to ensure that all aspects are carried out in a fully compliant manner in accordance with all current and upcoming legislation. The person we are looking for must also be someone who has the dedication ambition and tenacity to transform the service.
An Environmental Manager with an Energy Specialism is required to operate from site in London, taking a lead role in providing support, advice and management information as well as legislative compliance on the full spectrum of Energy requirements in line with the contract, client requirements and our companies core values. The Environmental element of the role would be in aiding the Environmental team to deliver Environmental compliance and source viable options for energy and carbon reduction.
The project is currently 3 sites with 2 of the sites being large acute PFI hospitals. The project is currently in transition into the newly built hospitals and at this stage the contract is complex and challenging. Energy management on the contract has been delivered consistently via a consultancy but we are now in the position of stability and see the opportunity to self deliver and develop our vision of an exemplar service.

Job Requirements to be delivered:
To ensure the effective management of energy in line with the contract deliverables and create the exemplar service.
To ensure that all aspects of support are fulfilled in the delivery of CRC compliance & to compliantly manage EU ETS for the contract
To identify, develop and implement new energy related opportunities.
Carry out all energy related tasks to ensure service provision and compliance
To motivate and train colleagues and the relevant client/ trust staff in energy management
Maintain a thorough understanding of corporate energy strategy, legal, statutory and technical issues which applicable to and/or affecting the Clients business.
Promote energy efficiency and provide advice and support for the development of energy efficient practices
Ensure the progress of recommended energy improvement works is completed in line with the programme, reported and communicated.
Develop and implement with the client the overall strategy for energy requirements, to meet the contract deliverables in line with the strategic intent of the organisation and represent the Environmental / Energy Department and the Customer in all areas of the business
Develop and manage the corporate energy and environmental policy and strategy in conjunction with all parties to achieve energy and waste reduction targets through cost effective and efficient implementation.
Undertake energy surveys in customers premises
Provide full feasibility studies of costed initiatives / projects to reduce energy usage and/or supply (i.e. embedded generation/ CHP). Develop and advise on these and implement into working projects, which meet customer objectives and best practice.
Commercially manage the gain/ pain share
Transition energy management through new PFI building stages and oversee the Test & Commissioning programme
Manage the building closures and utilities associated with this.
Understand and advise through the benefits/ issues of FIT, RHI & EPC
Provide monitoring and verification through the full cycle of the project to achieve cost and energy efficient solutions.
Maintain a current level of utility market intelligence
Plan, monitor and achieve consumption / emission targets
Understand Utility supply trading arrangements
Provide regular and ad hoc management reports on all aspects of Environmental and Energy performance and water use.
Provide support and training to all other operational departments on all aspects of Environmental and Energy
Provide continued support to the retention of ISO 14001 and assist in all Audit and follow up actions.
Work with the BMS manager to ensure optimisation of plant
Ensure the ERM is working correctly and all virtual meters are set up for the appropriate areas
Ensure bills are validated and credits received where appropriate
Record water consumption data
Assess and report the expected energy impact on contract variations
Work with the larger FM group to deliver an exemplar project.

Knowledge / Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience in energy and environmental management
Understanding of working within the NHS
Extensive knowledge of the principle techniques and technologies which support the efficient use of energy
Understand complex contract deliverables
Competency in current benchmark techniques, baseline calculations and statistical analysis
Project management experience
Working knowledge of BMS and control theory. Be able to build virtual meters
Ability to carry out full energy surveys and feasibility studies of energy technologies (eg CHP)
Competent knowledge of EU ETS & CRC
Knowledge of customer operations, business drivers, financials and specialist sources of information, legislative requirements where necessary
Skills:
Ability of prioritise workload
Communicate progress appropriately
Must be able to juggle demands from different groups and business
Must to able to work alone.
Preperation of high level reports and presentations
Must be able to translate complex engineering/ terminology into useful information at the relevant levels
Ability to meet deadlines and manage expectations
Must want to deliver an exemplar project
Qualifications:
Engineering/Energy related qualification to at least Degree Level or equivalent
