Technical Training Manager

TQ have been awarded a five year contract to deliver training services at the Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. We deliver and assess English Language, Key Skills and Technical National Vocational Qualifications to IVQ Level 3 in the Petroleum Industry. The contract involves direct delivery of technical training, operating the workshops, providing curriculum and accreditation to international standards and recruiting teaching and support staff to deliver the training and assessment programs.

Job description:

We require a training professional to for the position of Technical Training Manager (TTM). Reporting to the Director of Training, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the technical training programs and the technical training team. You will also act as a back-up Lead Internal Verifier to the NVQ / IVQ Coordinator for all programs.

Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic, Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Package:
Attractive salary (not subject to UK tax), furnished accommodation, healthcare, annual flight and baggage allowance, mobilisation/demobilisation flights, single use of a company car + fuel allowance.

Contract Status: Open. Single status preferred.

Hours:
Full time - 40 hours per week. 5 days per week Sat to Wed, although some flexibility may be required. Not rotational.

Start date: Immediate

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the development and completion of all technical training programs, course materials and assessments and compile weekly/monthly reports as required.
Effectively manage a team of Senior Instructors, Instructors and Technicians, including recruiting, appraisals, coaching, training, discipline etc.
Ensure that the equipment in the workshops and laboratories is suitable and assist in sourcing suitable redundant equipment from Operating Companies for training purposes.
Ensure that the centre maintains Approved Centre status by the Awarding Bodies and ensure accreditation of all programs delivered at the centre and in the workplace.
Implement a suitable IV and Quality Assurance system to meet Awarding Body requirements and ensure that the quality of all the programs is maintained.
Liaise directly with the External Verifier and coordinate visits and audit’s as appropriate.
Ensure Quality Control is maintained and work closely with the centre Quality Assurance Manager to develop systems and programs.
Develop and manage teaching and assessment schedules and perform instructor teaching observations.
Partake in meetings with the client and Service Company’s to develop courses suited to their needs.
Ideally applicants should have:

Relevant technical and training qualifications (min Degree in a technical and or training discipline).

A1 and V1 Workplace Assessor and Verifier qualifications.
A minimum of 5 years training management experience.
Significant NVQ / IVQ training, Assessment and Verification experience.
Experience of training program accreditation, Quality Control, and working with Awarding Bodies.
Significant technical knowledge and Industrial experience, preferably within the oil & gas or petrochemical sector.
Proven supervisory/people management experience and excellent leadership skills.
Significant experience in developing training courses and course materials.
A high level of presentation skills and effective interpersonal skills.
Desirable attributes include:

Experience of working in the Middle East.

Qualifications:
Vocational or equivalent
