This position is located in the Russian Verbatim Reporting Section, Verbatim Reporting Service, MPD/DGACM, and the incumbent is under the general supervision of the Chief of the Verbatim Reporting Service, and directly under the Chief of the Russian Verbatim Reporting Section.
Within the delegated authority, the Reviser-Verbatim Reporter will be responsible for the following duties: Revises in extenso verbatim records of meetings. Ensures consistency and checks for uniformity and continuity of records. Provides Verbatim Reporters with advice and guidance. Consults relevant reference sources and carries out additional research as required. Ensures conformity of the revised record with the original and/or other language versions and with the United Nations established practice. Reports to Chief of Section on the quality of the work of verbatim reporters. Performs the duties of a Verbatim Reporter, as required. May serve as officer-in-charge of the Section in the absence of the Chief. Performs other related duties as required.

Education:
A first-level degree from a university or institution of equivalent status is required. Candidates for this position must have passed the United Nations Competitive Examination for Russian Verbatim Reporters.
Work Experience:
At least five years of progressively responsible work in verbatim record writing, out of which at least three years should have been in the United Nations System.
Languages:
A perfect command of Russian, which must be the candidate's main language, and an excellent knowledge of two other official languages of the United Nations, one of which should be English.
Assessment Method:
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
