Applications & Development Manager
Responsible for managing the business software, applications and Web development to be in-line with Al-Babtain Group business needs and expectations. In-addition to service support and service delivery coordination.
RESPONSIBILITY:
- Provide effective coordination between the applications and developments unit, IT operations and network unit and other departments in the Group.
- Prepare detailed design and technical software application requirements.
- Create a software quality assurance plan for the projects.
- Tracking and managing applications requirements.
- Defining and reviewing a test strategy (entry and exit criteria) and an operational test plan methodology.
- Build and maintaining a business and technical requirements repository and test cases for accredited systems.
- Developing follow-on action plan from test results
- Evaluating compliance of change requests with IT and IS policies, standards and procedures.
- Leads effort to establish and document application program and design standards.
- Facilitate formulation and management of the architecture development process.
- Maintain library of code that may be reused in other applications
- Evaluate new technologies and off-shelf applications.
- Contributes to the writing and evaluation of Requests for Proposals pertaining to software projects.
- Provide impact analysis of application change requests.
- Coaches and mentors the applications and developments staff, and their development.
- Any other role/responsibility if required by the Group management.
EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years IT experience in software development, with at least 2 years experience in leadership roles.
QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor degree in a computer science or information technology or equivalent discipline.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Work knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- knowledge with programming languages and technologies
- Ability to analyze and design systems, developing and unit testing of applications, and managing application architecture and strategy.
- Leading programmers/developers in large scale projects
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Familiarity with latest systems, ERP’s, service level management, availability and continuity, and data modelling techniques.
- Process management, KPI measurement and reporting on performance.
