Vestvågøy kommune lyser ut stipend for studenter ved lærerutdanningene. Studenter kan søke om stipend mot en bindingstid i Vestvågøy kommune etter endt skolegang. Stipendet er på totalt 50.000 pr person, og utbetales med 25.000 pr år de to siste årene av studiet.

Det er ønskelig at studenter som mottar stipend, også avvikler praksisperioder ved den aktuelle skolen i Vestvågøy kommune.
Studenter som tar desentralisert utdanning vil bli prioritert ved lærertilsettingene, foran andre søkere uten godkjent utdanning.
Studenter som har mottatt stipend vil bli prioritert ved lærertilsettingene når utdanningen er gjennomført.
Nyutdannede lærere får tilbud om mentor (veileder) det første året i jobb etter endt utdanning.
Vestvågøy kommune har fokus på kvalitet og utvikling, og kan tilby gode arbeidsvilkår og øvrige betingelser.
Vestvågøy kommune ønsker "sine" ungdommer tilbake etter endt utdanning, og vil så langt mulig tilrettelegge for at det kan skje. Vi ønsker også velkommen alle andre som ønsker å prøve ut Lofoten og det vi har å by på.
Vilkår for stipendordningen er som følger:
- Ordningen gjelder grunnutdanning for lærerutdanning. Ordningen gjelder universitets/høyskoleutdanninger.
- Den enkelte skal søke skriftlig. Det settes opp søkerliste som skal distribueres enhetsledere i grunnskolen i Vestvågøy kommune.
- For 4 årig utdanning gis stipend for år 3 og 4. Det gis kr 25 000 pr år. Ved deltidsstudie innvilges stipend i år 4 og 5.
